History of Bob Cousimano

Bob Cousimano has been around the racing industry for more than five decades, racing from Volkswagen beetles to top fuel dragsters. He’s been known for building championship and record breaking engines and also being an elite fuel management specialist. His grass roots start back in the 60’s of drag racing, but who would of known that the once top fuel/fuel altered driver would be an elite engine specialist in road racing. Jim Hall Racing picked up his talents in 1980. He was in charge of “Air Flow Development” for the Cosworth Indy engines. With the development that Bob Cousimano discovered, He was able to propel Jim Hall Racing to 2 Indianapolis 500 wins (1980 & 1981). With continued success, the his dedication of making performance enhancements got him a U.S. Patent in the 1981 “D” Port exhaust insert (head) and from there he went on to build Porsche billet heads, he was the only aftermarket manufacturer that built cylinder heads for Porsche other than factory. Soon it became evident that Bob Cousimano had something to prove in the Porsche industry. He did, legendary road race driver Al Holbert approached Cousimano for his talents. It paid off with a victory at the legendary event “24 hrs of Daytona”. From here another legendary engine builder “Ed Pink”, which Bob Cousimano produced performance gains in his unique billet heads, also acquired his talents. He was able to produce enough power that racing teams such as: Jim Busby / John Hotchkis /AJ Foyt etc. All used his powerful design cylinder heads. Soon people in the road racing industry considered Bob Cousimano a leader in the industry of aftermarket technology.Being a multi-versed engine designer and builder, he quickly adapted to any engine challenge.
